Two sequels and twenty-two years after the world was first introduced to a massive T. Rex in Jurassic Park, the infamous theme park has opened on Isla Nublar, giving visitors the opportunity to see Jurassic World truly come alive in Costa Rica. The timing could not be better, as a remake of the blockbuster film has recently opened in theaters.
To reach the park, visitors will first need to take a flight to Costa Rica and then make their way to Isla Nublar, an island located about 120 miles off the country's coast. Partnering with the park is American Airlines. Isla Nublar offers a yacht-style, double-decker ferry for transporting visitors from the coast to the island. Once on the island, visitors are greeted by lush tropical rainforests, a cloud-dappled volcano, and of course, plenty of prehistoric life.
Following significant research, the park's developers worked to reinvent the original park for a completely new generation in order to create a modern and satisfying visitor experience. As a result, visitors will find that the park is both new, yet familiar, featuring a number of shops, restaurants, and high-end amenities.
Rather than being relegated to antiquated Jeeps for exploring the park, visitors are able to navigate using a high-speed monorail, complete with air conditioning to provide total comfort. The monorail is designed to stop every 20 minutes at an attraction. If visitors elect not to hop off the monorail, they will continue past some of the park's jaw-dropping attractions.
Among the most inspiring of the park's attractions is the gyrosphere, a glass-orb vehicle capable of holding two people that glides along the Gyrosphere Valley past tropical terrain, giving passengers a complete 360-degree view of the park's dinosaurs. The orb features a monitor to help visitors in identifying various creatures.
When visitors feel like cooling off, they can take advantage of the opportunity to kayak along the Cretaceous Cruise. For even more adrenaline-pumping experiences, activities include the chance to jump on the Triumph Scrambler.
While the park has taken great care to provide ample transportation, many of the attractions situated on the 20+-mile-island can be explored by foot, including the baby dinosaur petting zoo. There is also an edutainment museum just waiting to be explored. For visitors who are looking for something more passive to enjoy, the Mosasaurus Feeding Show, held in a seaside stadium, is the perfect option.
When it's time to kick back and relax, the all-inclusive Hilton Isla Nublar Resort is the perfect place to do so, offering such amenities as a Mesozoic stone massage, almost three dozen indoor/outdoor courts, a palm-tree lined golf course, and several swimming pools.
If you find yourself just as ravenous as the dinosaurs, there are also several dining options, including a dozen sit-down restaurants and eight cafes, as well as such popular options as Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's. The park is also replete with a number of shopping venues, including several retail options situated along the park's Main Street.
