New Asian-Inspired Restaurant Comes to Costa Rica at a $2.5 Million Price Tag

The first P.F. Chang's China Bistro is now open in Costa Rica. Located on upscale Avenida Escazu, restaurant comes about following significant fund-raising on the part of Grupo Enjoy, a Costa Rican investor. The group raised approximately $2.5 million, nearly 100 percent of which was comprised of domestic capital, in order to launch the restaurant.

The Asian-themed restaurant chain already has numerous locations throughout North America as well as other locales. Patrons familiar with the restaurant should expect the same type of upscale atmosphere where they can enjoy a range of Asian fusion dishes, a myriad of Asian beers, and a coffee bar.

With the launching of the restaurant, 125 jobs were created. This proved to be impeccable timing, as unemployment in Costa Rica has been steadily increasing. The idea to launch the restaurant came just seven months ago after Enjoy Group principals visited a P.F. Chang's restaurant in Panama.

Most of the menu items served at P.F. Chang's restaurants around the world are seafood and vegetable based. The Costa Rica restaurant covers approximately 650 square meters and features three interior dining rooms as well as two outdoor dining terraces. Patrons may also relax at a bar. The restaurant will open at noon and close at 10 pm Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant will remain open until 11 pm. Lunch entrees will begin at about $7.50.
