As the small Latin American country of Costa Rica continues to make strides in attracting foreign investors, a new initiative recently announced that it will provide necessary resources to help launch startups. Costa Rica Open Future, a public-private business accelerator, will provide between six and eight teams of entrepreneurs the opportunity to land a position on the accelerator. The initiative is comprised of Cenat, CONAE, and Movistar.
Only teams with truly innovative ideas will be recruited for the initiative. Those teams will be provided with customized guidance and support for six months, along with a space in which they can work in a collaborative manner. The goal of the initiative is to provide visibility for products and services as initial ideas mature. Ultimately, Costa Rica Open Future hopes to help startups deliver their products and services to the Costa Rican market.
Teams interested in participating may apply at www.costarica.openfuture.org and complete the necessary entry form. As part of the application process, entrants are required to explain their innovating ideas. Final selections will be announced January 14th.
