Spirit Airlines Set to Open San Jose-Houston Route Multiple Times per Week

Spirit Airlines, a discount carrier in the United States, recently announced that it will soon be making flights between San Jose and Houston four times per week. The new flights will begin on May 28, 2015. Up to 178 passengers will be accommodated on the Airbus A319 and A320 to be used on the upcoming flights.

The new route comes as part of the carrier's expansion to Latin America. Spirit Airlines will actually be the first airline to provide a flight from the central United States to Costa Rica. Condor, a German airline carrier, also recently began a third weekly flight to the Country. Nonstop flights to Cuba were also recently resumed by Cubana de Aviacion. Rounding out the airlines increasing their flights to Costa Rica are Southwest Airlines and Thomson Airways, both of which have confirmed that new flights will occur in 2015. VivaColombia and Turkish Airlines are currently in the process of negotiating to open new routes to Costa Rica.
