What You Need to Know When Visiting Marina Pez Vela

Opened in 2010 to replace the aging pier that was originally constructed to serve the local banana plantations, Marina Pez Vela has evolved into a world-class facility offering everything that boating and fishing enthusiasts need. Visitors will find that the marina has a wide array of services available.
The concrete floating dock system at the marina is capable of accommodating vessels up to 200 feet in length and has a safe operating depth of 14 feet. A wide range of amenities is available to visiting crafts, including potable water, electric, complementary Wi-Fi, a dock box, and free sanitary pump out capability available at each boat slip. Visitors are also able to enjoy 24-hour trash disposal and security. Slips are made available on a daily as well as monthly and annual basis to suit the varying needs of visitors. Additionally, the marina provides a fully-stocked marine store to meet the provisioning needs of visitors.
In planning a stop at the marina, it is important for boat operators to be aware that they will need to complete the clearing process into Costa Rica before they will be allowed to fuel. The marina does provide assistance with the clearing process and works to ensure that visitors are able to make the transition as quickly as possible. Once visitors are cleared, they can take advantage of the fuel dispensers that the marina that offer an output of up to 65 gallons per minute. The fuel dock is open seven days per week from 6am to 6pm. Dock service attendants are also available site during the same hours to assist visitors with fueling, line handling, pump out, mooring, provisioning, dock transport service, and more. Visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of the complementary Wi-Fi offered at each slip along with spacious dock boxes.
While fueling is often a top concern for boaters, the marina has taken steps to ensure that a variety of other convenient services is also available. For instance, the marina offers vessels several different types of amp connections as well as potable water at every slip. In addition, a state-of-the-art sanitary pump out station is also available at each slip. No fee is charged for this service.
